La tradition du calendrier de l’Avent/ Advent Calendar

Posted by: Gaëlle Loriot - de Swarte

Google slides using cognates and visuals to introduce a beloved holiday tradition that has become increasingly more cultural than religious in France. “Ouvrir la petite fenêtre du calendrier” is a hit in all my classes. I buy my chocolate calendars at Aldi at just over $1 each. I randomly pick a student each day (each class has its own calendar) to open the little window and get the chocolate.

Questions on the last slides lead students to share their preferences and family holiday traditions.
