Fiches de conversation: Débutants | Conversation support: Beginners

Posted by: Catherine Ousselin   |   30/21/25

To support absolute beginners, I created this 17 page Canva document

that you can make a copy of and edit. I have provided approximate phonetic pronunciations, but this can be amened on your own copies. This activity is designed to support beginners through sounding out French and basic information exchanges.

There are six different topics:

  • Tout sur moi!
  • La nourriture et les préférences
  • Les couleurs et les objets
  • Les nombres et les objets
  • Les mois de l’année
  • L’alphabet

Mode d’emploi:

  • The printed sets are in plastic sheet protectors or laminated
  • Place the sets at stations around the room
  • Students are in groups of 4-6.
  • Over 4-5 minutes, each student reads one of the statements until all the statements have been read.
  • Students rotate to the next station until all stations have been completed.
  • Activity/Task | Interpersonal
  • Novice
  • Proficiency/CI-based
  • Not grammar-based
  • Contemporary life | Vie contemporaine
  • Link (website, video, resource, cloud documents)
  • I attest that this is true
