This slideshow and communicative activity is intended for kindergarten through 4th grade. This activity practices asking “Where is” and the expressions up high/down low / upstairs and downstairs.
Students will ask their partner “Où est…le chat?” Partner: “en bas” (for intermediate: Le chat est.. en bas/en haut”)
Students will glue the animal according to where their partner tells them. For more advanced leaders: They will draw a picture of where they are at their own house, and then ask a partner “Où es-tu?” and write down the answer and draw their partner. Then they will ask another person about their former partner. For example, Sylvia asked Marie where she is in her house. Then Marie switched partners and her partner asked “Où est Sylvia?”
Editor’s note: The song, “Ces soirées là” was suggested as an authentic resource for this activity. Merci bien à Rebecca Peters.
